Labor Day Weekend

Go Badgers!! The football game Friday night kept us on the edge of our seats. West Allis was ahead (10 to 7) for most of the game, until the last 3 minutes. Badgers scored with less than 3 minutes that put them ahead 13 to 10. It was a good game to the very end! The boys had fun showing their Badger spirit with the rest of the crowd.
The boys thought it was pretty cool how a helicopter came over us to film a good portion of the game. They thought they might get themselves on TV if they jumped high enough and waved hard enough. No luck....when we watched it the next morning, they did not see themselves on TV. :-)

We were disappointed to have missed Cruz' birthday party on Saturday. I was back-up with curriculum work for most of the day on Saturday. Due to our move at the end of the summer, I didn't spend much time on my curriculum before school started. When the first week came around, I had a hard time keeping up. I got behind in my work and needed a day to prepare for the coming week. Happy Birthday, Cruz!!

I worked until early afternoon and then enjoyed our visitors later that afternoon. It was a joy to have Lou & Louis come to visit us! They were so kind to bring us a warm meal, drinks, lots of goodies, and even a few treasures for the boys. We had such a good time catching up and hanging out together.

During their visit, we had a hot air balloon right outside our deck. The boys have seen them before, outside our deck, but never this close! This was quite exciting for them!

I just love this picture of Bradley and Uncle Louis! The boys had a good time with Uncle Louis, as he let them perform a movie on his video camera. After watching the video, I don't think I would admit that they were my boys.......those silly kids! They had fun doing it, though.

Carter took this picture of us outside. It was already getting dark, so the quality of the light didn't come out very well. It is still a nice picture of Lou & Louis' visit! If it looks like Lou is saying "...four....", well, she is!!! She was counting to five for Carter to take the picture and she only got to "four". Cute!! :-)

Thanks for coming to visit Lou & Louis! We loved having you here and look forward to another get-together!

SUNDAY -

Sunday was a lot of fun for us. We attended a new church called Mt. Zion Christian Church. We absolutely loved it! I was so moved during the service. God was definitely leading us here!! We have also attended Lakeland Community Church and Calvary Community Church. We enjoyed these services, as well, but we left Mt. Zion feeling, "WOW".

After church, we headed to Elkhorn, which is about 8 miles from us, to enjoy the Walworth County Fair. The kids had fun at the carnival, playing the games and looking at all the animals. Carter's favorite animal at the Fair was the ducks. Bradley's favorite animal was the rabbits.

That night, we worked on Chad's resume to get it ready for the recent jobs that were posted. Please pray for Chad, as he found a few more job openings that he is very interested in. They are also local jobs, which he wants. He will be out next week again on his job hunt!! He has become quite computer savvy through this process. :-)

I took some picture of our apartment/condo for you to see where we live.

Living Room...

Kitchen....

Dining Room....

The hallway goes down to the laundry room, the boys' room, a bathroom, and a our bedroom with a master bathroom. If I can ever get these rooms cleaned up, I will take pictures. I am sure the boys would like everyone to see their bedroom.

The stairs come up from the foyer below.....

First Day of School for The Dorwin's

It was the first day of school on Tuesday for the Dorwin family! Carter had his first day at Eastview Elementary. Bradley had his first day at Amy's Academy (without big brother), and I had my first day with students at Badger HS.
I left for work before any of the boys were up and left directions of the "morning routine" for Chad. The camera was left out for him to take pictures of the boys' first day. Of course, I was a little sad that I didn't get to see the boys on their first day of school, but they were sure to tell me all about it when I got home. I was a little worried about Carter on his first day, so I called him after school. When I asked him how his first day went, he responded, "It was AWESOME!". How great it was to hear those words.

We all shared our stories of the first day when we arrived home. Carter had a good experience in 2nd grade. Bradley also had a good day and told me all about the shapes that they explored at preschool. I had a pleasant day, as well.
The boys thought that since it was "technically" my first day with students, I should have had my picture taken too. We all sat in for a picture, but first, the boys had to get some of their items from the dress-up bin. (I am so glad I did not dispose of this bin before we moved!)

I few more changes from the dress-up bin for another picture.........

Carter and Bradley's friends that live in the condos around us also attend Eastview Elementary. Chad had a good day on his job search too. We met a nice Christian family that lives in the condo across from us. God is bringing wonderful people into our lives! We feel very blessed!!

Things are rolling around here......

Hello Everyone!!
I don't have any new pictures to show, but thought I should update our blog. We had a nice and productive trip "up north" last weekend. Thanks to the Klimie's for letting us bunk with them for the weekend.

Chad handed his Ford 150 pick-up truck off to my cousin Dan, who bought it from him. He then happily received his new(er) Ford 150 pick-up truck from Jamie. He has a very nice set of wheels, as we now have a 4-door truck! I will add that he has been spending this week washing it, vacuuming it, and basically babying it, like most guys do when they get a new set of wheels.
:-)

On Saturday, we drove to Amery where our good friends bought a house. We were able to visit with them for a few hours. Saturday night, my parents came up to Barron to visit with us and we had a few good laughs. Grandpa Ken was sporting off his new bandanna on his head! :-)

Congratulations to Paul & Tara as they had their baby on Friday. Their sweet girl, Alaina Lorann, was just as beautiful as could be!! We were able to love her up a little before we left on Sunday. It was so nice of Tara to have had her baby while we were up north. I didn't bring my camera with us on our trip, but Tara took some pictures of the boys holding their sweet new cousin. I will post them when Tara sends them to me.

We also visited with the new owners of our house before we left and finished up a few things with them. We have been able to do the closing from a distance, which is nice. Thanks, Auntie Pat, for your help with that.

I have been going in to work this week to work on curriculum. We spent another day at the beach, as our summer is soon coming to an end. We have also been swimming and going for walks around our subdivision every night.

Carter is spending some time today at the park with his new friend, Brandon, who will be in his class. We have Open House at Carter's school on Thursday. Carter has Mr. C. for a teacher, who I have heard is great with kids!! He is excited to have a "boy" for a teacher. I start Inservice on Thursday and will continue until school starts on the 1st.

Bradley has spent some time at his new school this week. It is hard to get him to leave when we pick-up. He likes his new friends and his teacher.

This weekend we are going camping to the Jellystone Park in Fremont with some friends. Toby has a dog-sitter coming to take care of him. Another mom in our subdivision helps out with Toby if we need her. Since they have two dogs, we help them when needed, too. It is nice to get to know the people around us.

Well, there's an update in a nut shell. I hope everyone has a Happy 1st Week of School next week!!

Sunday at the Pool

We tried a new church on Sunday called the Lakeland Community Church. It is the same affiliation as Friendship Baptist Church in Mondovi. Our Pastor told us about Lakeland, so we decided to try it first. It was a nice church. They had a great sound system, as the boys really enjoyed the music.
After lunch, we had a couple sprinkles of rain and some strong winds. We decided to pass on the boat tour of Lake Geneva until another time. We didn't want to get rained-out on the boat. Instead, the boys wanted to go swimming.....again.....

Here are the goggle-boys!!

We hope everyone has a great week. Keep in touch!!!!

A Day at the Beach.....

Saturday was a day at the beach. It was a beautiful day to spend at the beach. We had a lot of fun together. I was a little camera-happy, so........enjoy the pictures.......

After lots of swimming, the boys decided to play in the sand. Bradley informed us that he was making a CAKE out of sand and seaweed.

Carter's creation was making a lagoon....

After playing at the beach, we walked the sidewalk along the beach to the Riviera. The boys had to throw in a penny and make a wish at the fountain.

To end the day, we walked to Cold Stone for some ice cream. I would have to say this is a great way to end any day!!!!

Tara's Baby Shower

Sorry this posting is so late! We had Tara's baby shower the weekend before we moved. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the good company.

Tara's baby shower cake was made by her grandmother..... Pat, Grandma Lila, and Kara all made it to the shower.....

LaNita, Toby and Sondra also joined the fun.....
