Weekend to Remember Conference

Chad and I had the opportunity to attend a Marriage Retreat in Rochester, titled "Weekend to Remember" presented by Family Life. I have to say....that is just what it was.....a weekend to remember. It was a very nice conference and the guest speakers were phenomenal. We arrived a little late Friday night, but were able to get in on the last session. On Saturday, we attended sessions together and ended the day with a date night. We finished up Sunday morning and headed for home around 1:00. We enjoyed the company of our friends at the conference as Jim & Renee Hurlburt and Jeff & Heather Hahn were able to attend, as well.

The boys had a great time hanging out with Uncle, Auntie & the Klimie cousins while we were gone. We are still hearing stories about all the fun that they had.

A very kind lady was nice enough to take the time to get a few group pictures of us. We enjoyed being at the conference with good friends!

February 4, 2008

Chad made it home from his ice fishing trip on his birthday...Monday, February 4. The ice fishing crew had to drive a little bit in the snow storm that came on Monday. He enjoyed the ice fishing trip.....not a lot of fish, but mostly enjoyed the camaraderie. Pepin Schools were dismissed at 12:30 because of the snow, so after my classes at Alma, I headed home with good intentions of picking up Carter. Durand Schools were also getting out early....at 1:00. Well, my intentions didn't quite work out......for my mini van could not make it up the hill to the Caddie Woodlawn School. I ended up getting stuck, but was able to back down the hill to the main road. Good thing for Uncle Ross....he was in town snow plowing at the time and was able to run up to Caddie to get Carter. He and Carter met me at McDonald's, and Ross had to chuckle for he saw my tracks where I had gotten stuck a few minutes earlier. Of course, he drove right over them with the beast! Chad picked up Bradley from daycare on their way home, and I was glad that everyone made it home safely.

The boys and I kept busy over the weekend when Chad was gone. Friday night, the boys rented a movie and popped some popcorn to go with the movie. They watched their movie while I did some baking. On Saturday, I went to the Women's Worship Group at church while the boys played at their babysitters house. Saturday afternoon, we visited some friends of ours, and took them some goodies that we baked. On Sunday, we went to Sunday school and to church. That afternoon, I took the boys to see the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks", for it was playing in Durand. Carter thought it was really cute.....he told me that he wants to buy the movie when it comes out on DVD. This was Bradley's first trip to the movie theater. He enjoyed the parts when the chipmunks were singing and dancing around.

We made Chad an Oreo cookie cake for his birthday. The boys kept wanting to blow out the candles. Chad's truck is laid up right now, and getting some work done on the wiring. He is hoping to get back on the road by Wednesday. Have a good week everyone!
