Pumpkin Carving

The pumpkin carving fun took place today. Carter loved pulling out the pumpkin guts, but Bradley did not like it as much, as he did not want to touch it. He enjoyed watching Carter, however, pull the guts and seeds out and squish them between his fingers.
The pumpkin that Bradley carved (well, actually that was me pulling out the guts since he didn't want to do it!!) was one from the Rice Lake Pumpkin Patch.
The pumpkin that Carter carved was one that he grew himself. He planted pumpkins in the garden this year and, I think, he ended up with 4 pumpkins. They were very nice pumpkins!
Here are the pumpkin carving days from.......2006..... Bradley..........2007..............
Carter...........2007.........
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Sunday

Sunday morning started bright and early with Christian Education Hour (formerly known as "Sunday School"). I teach the Kindergarten - 2nd grade kids. We practiced our song that the kids were going to perform for their mom's and dad's and other families in church.
The kids did a great job singing and following the motions to the song. Here's Carter and Paige in the front row. Paige did a great job singing........and smiling!!

If you look closely, you can also see Ethan, Hunter, and Dylan in this picture.....

After church, we headed back to Durand for gift opening at Bill & LaNita's house. We watched Paul & Tara open all their wonderful gifts.

Family members and wedding party people attended the gift opening. Shana and Abby made it over. Shana put together a CD for Tara & Paul of the many great pictures from their wedding. I think she stayed up all night to put it together. Thanks Shana!
Shana, Abby and Auntie Pat....
From left to right, here is Tara's Aunt, Tara's dad's friend, and Tara's dad.....
LaNita and Bill were very busy getting different jobs done around the house to prepare for this day. The lunch was great that LaNita prepared. I think I am still eating leftovers!
Here is LaNita and Tara's Grandma......
What a fun weekend, thanks to family and friends. Paul and Tara are off on their honeymoon this week. They are taking some time together up north. We hope you enjoy the time together!

Paul & Tara's Wedding Day

October 11, 2008, marked the big day for Paul and Tara as they joined together in marriage! Family and friends, both near and far, came to see the beautiful couple on their special day.

Paul & Tara's photographer took the pictures of the wedding party and family before the wedding.

The kids were fun to watch as they were all dressed up for the big wedding. Evan, the honorary best man, and Autumn, the honorary maid of honor, were helping Riley, the flower girl, down the church walk-way. They also had little Jarrod, Tara's nephew, as the ring bearer.

Tara's dad, Mitch, walks Tara down the church aisle to Paul....

"You may now kiss the bride......"

The happy couple is FINALLY married. Lots of smiles from both....

Shana took a picture for us. If only Bradley would look at the camera. Too much going on around him, I guess.

Tara saying her "thank-you's" at the reception that was held at the Rod & Gun Club in Durand.

Tara's dad was very busy this summer, planting and growing all of the unique gourds for the decorations at the wedding. Carter and Abby had a blast finding the most unusual gourds. Shana and Abby give us a show with these crazy-looking gourds!!
It was nice to see some of our relatives at the wedding that we haven't seen in awhile.......like Paul Fylling....here he is catching up with Todd & Missy.
Grandpa Ken and Grandma Deb made it over to the reception. The kids were still having fun with the gourds. Everyone at the reception/dance were allowed to take some gourds home with them. Carter, repeatedly, stuffed my bag with gourds that, eventually, filled up the van. Our porch looks very fall-like with all of the gourds. Thanks Mitch!!
Evan was all dressed-up and was a very handsome little guy at the wedding. Evan stayed over night at our house and we talked about how nice it is that his dad married Tara.
Bill and LaNita chatting with their long-time good friends, John and Amy Burkholders.
Bill and LaNita looked very nice in their wedding attire.
Paul has found the love of his life and we are very happy to have Tara in our family. I look forward to having many great memories with my new sister-in-law. We love you Paul, Tara, Evan and Autumn!!

Saturday basketball and Pumpkin Patch

We went to Barron on Saturday to watch Abby play basketball and to have some fun at the Pumpkin Patch in Rice Lake.
Abby did a great job playing basketball. She's a good dribbler. What fun it was to watch her play! There's our basketball star, #4....

Good game, Abby!!
Abby's fans on the bleachers....Grandma Deb, Grandpa Ken, Carter and Bradley....
I woud say that I am Abby's biggest fan, but I think Abby's mom & dad have me beat!! Here' my little sweetheart....
Our annual Pumpkin Patch Day at Rice Lake was a blast......and a beautiful day.
Carter picked out his pumpkin....
Bradley picked out quite a few pumpkins......
The Klimee cousins made our day lots of fun......
Abby, Austin & Andrew....
This would be the goofy Dorwin boys.....
The Pumpkin Patch Crew....Bradley, Abby, Carter, Austin and Andrew. They really were quite happy that day. It was hard to get a picture with all of them looking at the same time.....
Bradley and Carter....
This is my favorite part of the trip.....eating the yummy caramel pumpkins......oops, I mean caramel apples....
Bradley passed on a caramel apple, but had a pumpkin sucker instead....
Carter and Abby in the pumpkin heads......

Big cousins Austin, Andrew & Abby took the boys into the petting zoo and play area. It was hard to get them to leave when it was time to go.....
Carter in the elephant tower....with the husks......oops, I mean tusks!!
Bradley in the petting zoo with a bunny. Andrew informed me that the bunny almost got away....
Austin took some pictures for me......here's Abby, Bradley & Andrew....in the subtraction....oops, I mean contraption.....

What a great day......thanks, Klimee Cousins, for making it such a fun and special day. We always look forward to our traditional pumpkin patch day every year!!! This year the trip was especially fun as the parking lot was very organized for its' pumpkin patchers. Yes, we had many glares and evil looks as someone in the vehicle suggested that I park in the entrance area. The best part was, however, backing up and trying to get out of the entrance area when other cars were also trying to get out of their parking spots. Oh, what fun it was to find a parking spot!! I haven't laughed that hard in a long......long time!! Thanks to all my passengers for making it fun!
