Pinewood Derby

Chad took Carter to the Pinewood Derby on Saturday, while I stayed back and managed our thriftsale. What a busy day it was between the Derby and the thriftsale.
I was disappointed that I missed Carter's Derby, but Chad took lots of pictures so I could see what it was all about. Carter's car is the orange one with the black stripes (#10). Carter picked out the design of the car, and Grandpa Bill made the car for him.
Thanks Grandpa Bill!! Let the race begin....
Carter watching his car at the finish line....

The boys are cheering their cars on....
Here they come....

Carter took 4th place at the Pinewood Derby....

We forgot to put on the boyscout shirt that morning. Too much to remember that day!!

It was quite the Derby. I wish I could have been there to get in on the excitement myself. Although, Tara and I, along with a friend, had enough excitement at the house with our thriftsale.

Happy Easter!!

Easter morning brought excitement and fun, as we celebrated what Jesus did for us, and how much he loves us!
The boys had Easter eggs to find and a gift left for them.
Bradley was happy to see a new rifle left just for him. He even had caps to give it the real "bang" sound. Chad is trying to figure out how to work them....
Bradley, our little hunter....

This marks the year that Carter said "good-bye" to his training wheels. His old bike was too little for him and Carter learned how to bike without help. He's doing a great job and loves his new, bigger, bike!!

Can't forget about Toby as we celebrate Easter....

We had a delicious breakfast at church that morning, and afterwards headed to Independence to visit Grandma Deb, Grandpa Ken, and even Great-Grandpa Ed.
The excitement at Grandma Deb's was riding her motorized cart.....

It was sure nice to visit with Grandpa Ed. He looked great!! Lots to be thankful for!

Grandma Deb looks great, too. We are very blessed that Grandma Deb is doing so well after her surgery..

I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter!
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will have life even if he dies. And he who lives and believes in me will never die."

Waterpark Vacation

We had a good time at the Cranberry Country Lodge this year in Tomah. We left last Thursday after school and work and came home on Saturday to color eggs.
We enjoyed each morning with the continental breakfast.... We were surprised to see that the big waterslides were taken down in the waterpark. I guess they had to remove them due to a liability incident. It sounds as if they are in the stage of rebuilding.
I thought Carter would be disappointed that he couldn't ride the big waterslides, but he did not mind at all. The boys had a great time playing in the kiddie area with the smaller waterslides.

Bradley loved playing with the water fountains. He tried a variety of things with the water fountains......tried sitting on them, tried karate chopping them.....to name a few.

It was nice to see the boys get along so well....

The boys picked out new water goggles to take to the waterpark. Here Bradley is trying on Carter's pair....obviously too big!!

More water fountain fun.....

When we returned on Saturday, the boys were ready to color eggs for Easter. In between, we worked on getting ready for the thriftsale for next weekend.

Good-bye to Chad's trailer...

We said "Good-bye" to Chad's trailer last night, as he sold it to a guy in Abbotsford. Eau Claire Truck & Trailer helped make the connection for Chad. We made a trip to Eau Claire last night to empty out the trailer boxes. The boys had fun helping and we all said good-bye to the trailer.

It is good to see Chad so happy and excited about his new job. He wanted to get out of over-the-road trucking for a few years now, and we continued to pray for patience in that an opportunity would come up for Chad. He feels very blessed for this opportunity and that he is starting a new position in driving truck. Chad will be hauling gravel during the day for a guy that he knows in Ellsworth.
Chad is looking forward to this new chapter in his life. We are proud of you, Chad!!! Congratulations!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! Nicole & the Boys
