Monsignor Edmund Klimek

Father Klimek will be greatly missed by many...

Until we see you again, Father Klimek.....

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - An influential figure in the Catholic church, the health care community, and among people all across the Chippewa Valley has died.

Monsignor Edmund Klimek died Wednesday after experiencing complications after a recent fall. He was 85.

Father Klimek received many accolades, on a local, state, and national level during his lifetime. He grew up on a farm in Arcadia, and graduated from St. Aloysius Grade School. He entered St. Francis Minor Seminary at age 15. In the fall of 1947, he went to St. Francis Major Seminary to receive philosophical and theological training.

About six years later, Father Klimek was ordained to the priesthood at La Crosse Holy Cross Seminary. Among his early assignments were assistant at St. Lawrence Parish in Wisconsin Rapids, instructor and athletic director at Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids, administrator of Holy Rosary Parish at Sigel, and Pastor at SS. Peter and Paul Parish in Independence. He oversaw the building of a new $500,000 elementary school for SS. Peter and Paul, and parishioners commissioned an oil portrait of him to be displayed inside.

In 1969, Father Klimek was appointed administrator of St. Bridget's Parish in Springfield, and Chaplain at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. At the hospital, he created the Department of Pastoral Care, and appointed its Director. He once said that it "should be a bridge between the hospital and the patient's church." He held that role for nine years before resigning and becoming Senior Priest Chaplain.

Father Klimek was appointed Diocesan Coordinator of Health Affairs for the Diocese of La Crosse in 1972. 13 years later, he and the late Father Lawrence Dunklee started serving as co-coordinators for the diocese, and continued until Father Dunklee died in 2011. Father Klimek resigned from the appointment later that year.

In 1989, Father Klimek Helped to develop Sacred Heart's bereavement center, The Healing Place. It provides an outreach service for the community in helping those who have lost loved ones. Pope Benedict XVI named Father Klimek "Monsignor," a member of the Papal Household, in 2005.
In June of this year, Father Klimek was honored with the Catholic Health Association's "Lifetime Achievement Award," which is typically reserved for influential Catholic health care executives. He recently marked 60 years as a priest, and 45 at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Hope 360 - Loss of a Child

Aaron and Sara share their story of losing their beautiful daughter....and how they continue to walk with Jesus even when we don't understand.  We had the privilege of attending Grace Community Church and hearing Aaron and Sara's story of hope.  In the midst of their deep sorrow, they lovingly
shine Jesus' light onto others, by holding on to God's promise of eternity.

They now share their story in Hope 360 Ministries.  They exist to bring the message that there is hope in Jesus no matter what life's devastation we are going through.

Thank you, Aaron and Sara, for coming alongside of people in their pain and to help us hold onto hope.

Thank you, Aaron and Sara, for sharing hope with our family.  Thinking of your sweet Maddie in Jesus' arms!

We love you!

Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter, Maria Sue, went into the arms of Jesus when she was just 5-years-old........

Halos of Hudson 5k Walk/Run

Halos of Hudson
C.A.R.E. (Compassion, Awareness, Remembrance, Education)

The Halos of Hudson's Mission is to provide support, encouragement and assistance to families who are grieving the loss of a child.  They give families hope through healing and help them keep their child's memory alive.  They also provide support to siblings grieving the loss of their brother or sister.

We walked to celebrate and remember our sons and brothers, Carter and Jacob...

We were blessed to walk on the C. Hope team for Dan and Rachel Fitzgerald, who their sweet boy and precious girl live with Jesus in Heaven.

Their precious children in Heaven:  Zaylee and Collin..

Dan and Rachel's son, Collin, recently left this earth to join his sister in Heaven.  In their deep pain, this amazing couple traveled to Lake Geneva on Carter's birthday and prayed at his cross for us.  They planted flowers and left a solar light, that Rachel made, with Carter's name on it by his cross.  They are truly filled with God's love and are of great support to us.  We love them very much and will forever pray for them.

Our blessings throughout the day right from the Hands of God!

"Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.  All day long I put my hope in you.  Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past."  Psalm 25:5-6
