Thinking about Treyton

We are thinking about Treyton Kilar's family and lifting them up in prayer.....

I remember the evening that our family heard about Treyton's accident on the news. School had just started and we heard it on the evening news after dinner. I remember so vividly feeling this deep sadness for Treyton's mom, as I was thinking about my own boys at the time; and thinking about the pain of ever losing one of my boys. I was thinking about how much it would shatter my life if I lost Carter or Bradley.  I couldn't imagine the pain that Trey's mom was going through. That night, I held my boys extra close and gave them extra hugs before bed.  Carter and I prayed together for their family. I felt such a deep sadness for the loss of their son. I remember going to bed that night and I couldn't get it out of my head. It was heavy on my heart for quite some time and we continued to pray for their family. Two months later, Carter was killed in our car accident. And I had still remembered Treyton. So now I pray for both our families and think about Treyton and Carter in heaven together.

Please pray for God's loving comfort over this family.

A sweet, sweet boy......

Treyton Michael Kilar

Kilar, Treyton Michael Our perfect little "Angel Boy", Treyton Michael Kilar was sent to heaven after a terrible car crash on September 2, 2010. Treyton was just 6 years old and attended Lisa Kotz's first grade class at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. Treyton is survived by his adoring family who love and miss him beyond what words can express. Our hearts are bleeding. He is survived by his beautiful and loving sisters; Brittany Hallberg-Kilar (17), Rosie Jaskolski-Kilar (15), and Kindyl Eiline Kilar (5), who are the best sisters anyone could have. "Trey Trey's" daddy Mike Kilar and mommy Mary Kilar are the most blessed parents who were so honored to call him "son". He was perfect, and we are devastated. He is further survived by loving family and dear friends who love him beyond words. His sweet and loving Grandparents; Eileen and Richard Jaskolski of Sussex, Pauline and Tom Kilar of Loves Park IL. Uncles; Joseph (Donna) Jaskolski of NJ, Mark Jaskolski and Rose Doornbosch of Milwaukee, Aunt; Karen Kingston of Arlington Heights IL. Great Aunties and uncles; Linda Benzschawel, Darlene Maternowski, Stan and Candy Jaskolski, and Ron and Jeanne Jaskolski. His dear God parents; Auntie Karen Maternowski and Uncle Steve Benzschawel and cousins; Mike, (Brenda), Dan, Lizzy, Michelle, Sara, Whitney, Christopher, Emma, Sam, Eliana, Craig (Alissa), and Curt (Kelly). He was loved by his extended family and friends; the Alexanders, Hammonds, Gunninks, Schnellers, Cobb-Muellers, Nelsons, Starks, Rutledges, Bourkes, Kopeckys, and Gosh Family, especially his "big brother" Nick, and so many more friends and family. Treyton was a boy unlike any other. His smile, joy for living, and kind heart taught us all how to truly live. He loved baseball, the Milwaukee Brewers, fishing, swimming, gardening, his school, his teachers, and all his friends. His love was unbelievable. He is gone too soon, taken by a senseless act, it is true. He taught us there will be no hatred. For God made him so perfect and perfection is back Home now. He will never be forgotten, for his memory will live on in all the hearts of his family and friends whom he loves so much. We will keep his spirit of selflessness, love, and kindness alive. Please come pray and celebrate what God has blessed us with, our little Angel boy. Visitation Tuesday 2:00-8:00 PM September 7, and Wednesday (TODAY), September 8, 2010 from 10:00 AM -12:00 Noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jefferson. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Noon on Wednesday September 8, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Richard Cerpich and Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater. The Nelson Bus Company will generously provide shuttle service from the Church to the cemetery on Wednesday for all who would like to attend the graveside committal service following Mass. Memorials may be made in Treyton's name to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or School, or to any program dedicated to preventing drunk driving. A special thank you to everyone at Waukesha Memorial Hospital~you were beyond compassionate in your care for our entire family as we grieved our son and began to heal our broken family. The EMT's and First Responders, Lisa Griep, Father Coyle, the Bilitz family, and all who helped at the scene and beyond, we love you and will only survive because of your love, support and our faith Condolences and memorials can also be made online at www.schneidermichaelisfuneralhome.com

Rejoice in the Lord always

How do we find joy in our lives?  Too often it comes at a significant price.  You learn you are mortal, and suddenly what used to seem important isn't.  Things that used to bother you don't anymore because they have become insignificant.  What then becomes significant are the people who you love and who love you.

When you know your time is limited, every moment becomes precious.  You step out the door, and a flower brings you joy because it may be the last flower you ever see.  Time becomes a gift, not a burden, because you choose to spend it with the things and people you love and stop doing the things that are meaningless.  You wear whatever you like and stop worrying so much about what others think.  When you appreciate the now, weather becomes fascinating instead of a problem.

Be in awe of the beauty of creation.  But more importantly, be in awe of the One who created it.

"But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever.  Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy."  Psalm 5:11

Monsignor Edmund Klimek

Father Klimek will be greatly missed by many...

Until we see you again, Father Klimek.....

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - An influential figure in the Catholic church, the health care community, and among people all across the Chippewa Valley has died.

Monsignor Edmund Klimek died Wednesday after experiencing complications after a recent fall. He was 85.

Father Klimek received many accolades, on a local, state, and national level during his lifetime. He grew up on a farm in Arcadia, and graduated from St. Aloysius Grade School. He entered St. Francis Minor Seminary at age 15. In the fall of 1947, he went to St. Francis Major Seminary to receive philosophical and theological training.

About six years later, Father Klimek was ordained to the priesthood at La Crosse Holy Cross Seminary. Among his early assignments were assistant at St. Lawrence Parish in Wisconsin Rapids, instructor and athletic director at Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids, administrator of Holy Rosary Parish at Sigel, and Pastor at SS. Peter and Paul Parish in Independence. He oversaw the building of a new $500,000 elementary school for SS. Peter and Paul, and parishioners commissioned an oil portrait of him to be displayed inside.

In 1969, Father Klimek was appointed administrator of St. Bridget's Parish in Springfield, and Chaplain at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. At the hospital, he created the Department of Pastoral Care, and appointed its Director. He once said that it "should be a bridge between the hospital and the patient's church." He held that role for nine years before resigning and becoming Senior Priest Chaplain.

Father Klimek was appointed Diocesan Coordinator of Health Affairs for the Diocese of La Crosse in 1972. 13 years later, he and the late Father Lawrence Dunklee started serving as co-coordinators for the diocese, and continued until Father Dunklee died in 2011. Father Klimek resigned from the appointment later that year.

In 1989, Father Klimek Helped to develop Sacred Heart's bereavement center, The Healing Place. It provides an outreach service for the community in helping those who have lost loved ones. Pope Benedict XVI named Father Klimek "Monsignor," a member of the Papal Household, in 2005.
In June of this year, Father Klimek was honored with the Catholic Health Association's "Lifetime Achievement Award," which is typically reserved for influential Catholic health care executives. He recently marked 60 years as a priest, and 45 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
