Messages of Inspiration, Hope, and Love. "The one thing I ask of the Lord - the thing I seek most - is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord's perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his santuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock." ............ Psalm 27:4-5

Cub Scout Camp
Carter returned home from Cub Scout Camp at the L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation in Haugen this week. He was all grown up going to Cub Scout Camp by himself!
I was able to have lunch and watch the awards ceremony on Carter's last day of Cub Scout camp. We stopped in at the Klimie cousins to see if they would be home, as Bradley wanted to play there. Just as I was about to leave, Andrew came home on his bike. Bradley wanted to stay and play with Andrew. Abby, later came home (after her adventure of finding a turtle!!), and they babysat Bradley for me. Thanks Klimie cousins!!
I had lunch with Carter and then it was time for the awards. Carter received some very cool awards. One of them was the Polar Bear Dive award, which means that they wake up early in the morning and run out to jump in the cold water. Here, Carter is receiving his award along with an orange-flavored freezy......
It was soooo hot!! Carter's pack (Pack 54) also won the Golden Bucket Award which means they had the cleanest quarters. When we dropped Carter off at camp, his pack was staying in the tipis; however, due to the storm Sunday night, they had to change their sleeping arrangements to the Towers.
Here the boys are digging into the Golden Bucket to find some "treasures".

Carter and his pack buddy, Cody, were the two boys that found the "treasure" box. This box was full of candy.
Carter also received a Mountaineer award for climbing Mount Akela, an Adventurer award for "not giving up at archery or the climbing wall"; and lastly, another Adventurer award for "wiping off tables".
There were five boys from Pack 54 that attended camp, along with other Packs. Here is a picture of the Pack 54 boys (sitting down on the ground), along with their Cub Scout Counselors......
All the counselors were a lot of fun and they do an excellent job with these little scouts.
Carter had a great time at camp........he came home with lots of stories to tell of all their adventures. He was a very tired boy by the time it was done. He ended up falling asleep on the way home and slept until 6:00 that night. He was back in bed, fast asleep by 9:00 that night. What good memories for him to have of his experience at camp!

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad
Fun Fest
Hello Everyone-
I am a little behind on my blog.....no, I am A LOT behind on my blog and behind on reading your family blogs, too. I am full force ahead into finishing graduate school. I am in my last class and have recently sent my first draft of my thesis to my advisor. I need to complete all the work by August, which I hope to then graduate.
In addition, we have Vacation Bible School in two weeks. I am getting everything organized so that we will be ready for this important week. Carter & Bradley spent the day at Grandma Deb & Grandpa Ken's yesterday so that I could get some shopping done for it. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!!
The first weekend in June was Fun Fest here in Durand. We didn't go to the carnival Friday night. Instead, we went to watch Evan play baseball at the Delong Middle School in Eau Claire. I forgot my camera, but Evan's mom was there taking pictures. If any of them turned out, she was going to send them to me and I will get them posted. Evan did a great job pitching at the game. I also heard that Evan's team won the championship this year at the tournaments!! Way to go, Evan!!
Saturday was a wash-out for Fun Fest, as it rained all day. The kiddy-tractor pull was cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday. Sunday was a busy day, as we had to fit Fun Fest in, all in one day.
Carter was in the parade on Sunday with the cub scouts, handing out pudding. This time, I did manage to remember my camera, but once I turned it on, the batteries were low. I did, however, happen to get one picture, as you can see below, that didn't turn out very well. We met some friends at the parade, which they took pictures of Carter and his cub scout team, and I will post them once I get them.
