We hope everyone enjoyed Memorial Day. We took the boat out for a ride on the Chippewa River and stopped at a sandbar for some fun and fishing. Todd, Missy, Dylan, Paige & Cruz also took their boat out. I am bummed out as I forgot to take my camera to get some shots of the kids playing on the sandbar. As cold as the water was, the kids still played in it and in the sand. They really didn't seem to mind until the very end when everyone was shivering. After a couple of hours, the winds started to pick up and the clouds started to come in, so we headed for home. Todd & Missy grilled out and Paul, Tara, Autumn, Evan and Grandpa Bill were able to join in. It was a nice afternoon.
~~We hope everyone had a nice weekend!~~
~~Have a great week!~~
Messages of Inspiration, Hope, and Love. "The one thing I ask of the Lord - the thing I seek most - is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord's perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his santuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock." ............ Psalm 27:4-5

Sunny Saturday!
The boys had fun in the sun on Saturday! They were finally able to bring out some of their summer toys. They have been waiting a long time for this. Chad spent Saturday working in the shop, getting the boat ready to go, and mowing the lawn. He was busy from about 9:00 in the morning, and he finally came in about 9:30 at night. The boys and I played outside, worked in the garden, and I am still scrubbing away at the glue on my walls after removing the wallpaper. The boys were thrilled to try out their water squirters that the Easter bunny brought them this year. It was all fun and games until they decided to squirt mom. Then it was time to put them away! :-)
Welcome Home Toby.....
Carter was very excited that his puppy came home Friday night.
Having a dog is new experience for me and I never thought I would say this, but I love having Toby. If you would have asked me a year ago, I would have said.."we will never have a dog!!" If it was up to Chad, both puppies would have come home with us as he wanted a companion for Toby. Since I was in charge of picking Toby up, only one came home!! :-) And we love him very much!!
After work on Friday, I went to Winona for a few dog items at Fleet Farm. On the way home, I stopped in to pick up Toby in Fountain City. The boys were sure excited to see him. Carter is especially enjoying Toby. Bradley, on the other hand, is a little skeptical. If Carter is playing with Toby, then Bradley will join in. Bradley doesn't like it when Toby chases him....he gets a little scared. We are teaching Carter the responsibilities of having a dog and being consistent with telling Carter when to take Toby out to the bathroom. He's already bathed Toby and is ready to do it again. It has been nice to have Toby for Carter to play with and take care of. It's cute to watch him care for Toby....Carter carries him around like a little baby. Carter feels very proud that Toby follows him all over.
Toby is actually a pretty good puppy. I was expecting the worst, and to my surprise, it is going quite well. Toby sleeps quietly in a kennel at night. He was partially potty-trained before we had him, so that has been going well, too. He looks forward to the treats that he gets when he goes to the bathroom outside.

Carter has always loved Andrew's personality. Andrew has a way of always making the boys laugh. Here Andrew and Carter are peeking through the pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch in Rice Lake. We got a kick out of Carter as he got his head stuck in one of the pumpkins. -2004
Here's big Cousin Andrew loving up Baby Bradley (2005).
Andrew.....say "CHEESE". As Andrew knows, Auntie loves his lips!! This was a little celebration at Grandma & Grandpa Klimek's for Carter's 5th birthday.

Saturday Events.....
Our Saturday started out with the boys and I planting the garden. Chad gave me a wonderful Mother's Day gift of black dirt!! I was so excited to see the two big piles of black dirt in our driveway when I came home from work on Friday!! We wanted to put a garden in last year, but never found black dirt early enough. We picked a different spot for the garden this year as it is now in the back. It turned out to be bigger than what I was expecting, so we even planted sweet corn and pumpkins this year. The boys had fun planting the seeds and, of course, playing in the dirt. Carter even helped with the hoeing, which was nice. We had to take a break from gardening to make a visit to the Alma Vet Clinic where the puppies were getting their shots. The boys wanted to see how much they had grown and spend a little time with them.Carter sure enjoyed the time he spent with the puppies. He is such an animal lover. He held on to the puppy the entire time and loved it up.
Bradley was funny.....he wanted the puppy to sit on his lap, but didn't want to hold it. It was cute watching him pet the puppy as he would put his face really close to the puppies, and then pet his head ever so gently.
The Yorkie puppies are an interesting breed. I didn't know how we could ever have a dog with my allergies, and even with Carter's allergies. I decided to do some research. When I was researching "dogs" and "allergies", I found out that Yorkies do not have an undercoat like other dogs do. Their hair is almost human-like and they do not shed.
Our new neighbors move in.....
You will probably have to click on the pictures to enlarge them to see our new neighbors, as the photos were taken from a distance. We have a cute little family of a mama fox and her pups that moved in right along the hillside closest to Bill & LaNita's house. They made a little home in the cement blocks that are on the hillside, going down to the spring.
"Woody", our woodchuck, that typically lives in the cement blocks is not around this year. I guess the mama fox and her pups marked their territory before Woody came back around. We are able to see our new neighbors outside every morning. They are usually within site, until they hear the boys outside. Here is the mama fox. Her pups are sure cute!! It should be interesting to see what Carter names them! He likes to name the "critters" around our house (as we have had plenty of them).
The fox family had a gourmet meal on Mother's Day, as Chad threw down some old steak to them that was freezer-burnt. The mama fox had steak for her meal and we had hot dogs!! What's wrong with this picture??

Grandpa Ken's Birthday
Grandma Deb & Grandpa Ken joined us for supper Friday night for Grandpa's birthday. The boys had fun blowing out Grandpa's birthday candles. Bradley kept sampling the chocolate frosting on the cake as his finger seemed to find its' way back every time. Here are some pictures of the boys having fun with Grandpa and his cake!!
